Be inspired by the best

Own up to being a writer, and the world lines up to give you advice. Some well meaning, much not so. Mostly, it spearheads a campaign to part you from your hard earned. Courses on this, books on that: grammar, structure, style, whatever.

For a while I fell under the thrall of 'How to Write a Novel in Sixty Seconds or Less' books. But it didn't take me long to conclude that any fool can give advice. Acting on it is where the problems occur. My response was to take my inspiration from the doers, not the advisors. Typically, I turned it into a game, and doodled images in Photoshop to fix the words of the masters into my memory.
